WIDA 2012 Amplified Standards
What is the difference between the WIDA Standards and the WIDA Amplified Standards?
The WIDA Amplified Standards aim to make the previous WIDA standards more meaningful in that they include social, instructional, and academic language goals. The standards now address social language as well as academic language for core subject areas (Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies). They also organize the standards in grade-level clusters to more easily understand expectations at a given level and set realistic goals that are developmentally appropriate.
